Now working from my studio at Sizergh, the natural world around me and in particular a passion for birds is a continuing inspiration for my work. Frequent visits to Morecambe Bay and its mosses, daily walks up Sizergh Fell, along the old canal and back along the river Kent, in all weathers and in different lights offer endless sources of material.
I work form sketches and photos to produce large strongly tonal graphite drawings and acrylic/ mixed media paintings. I aim above all to capture contrasts and those transitory moments in the magic of the surrounding countryside."
