We have just uploaded 6 new pieces from Hemlata Pradhan, which featured in her exhibition at the British Museum’s Indian themed exhibitions last Summer. A couple of the new paintings are shown below. Visit her collection to view the new works as well as her other pieces and note that a few are available as either watercolours or as prints.

In other news, we were delighted to see that Hemlata’s work featured in the national press toward the end of last year, with Kate Weinberg of the Daily Telegraph contrasting her endeavours with the brush to the difficulties of growing orchids. Well done Hemlata!

Currently working in his Scottish summer studio, David Koster has provided us with copies of two new woodcut prints: 'Cuckoo wrasse II' and 'Mackerel' with edition numbers 2 of 20 and 3 of 30 respectively. Please visit his collection to view them.

Debbie Grice was selected from among several hundred artists to exhibit at the Northern Print Biennale, a major international event. Debbie's mezzotint engravings are being displayed in Newcastle's Laing Art Gallery alongside prints by artists such as Jim Dine, Michael Craig-Martin, Louise Bourgeois and Richard Hamilton.

The limited edition mezzotints are now available to purchase from Debbie’s collection at the Land Gallery.

Andrew Tyzack has provided new artwork inspired by animals from his travels around the world. Included is his four colour lino cut of Painted Dogs seen whilst on a camping trip in Botswana's Chobe National Park. Andrew has donated copies of this work to Painted Dog Conservation and some were auctioned at an event held at the Natural History Museum, London, raising money to help conserve the African Hunting Dog. Robert Gillmor has provided us with print no.’s 61 to 64 (inclusive) of his “Turnstones” lino cut which is now available to purchase and view in his collection.

In 2005, The Land Gallery negotiated with the BBC to get David’s ‘Great Eagle Owl’ lithograph featured in their programme, “The Natural World: The Return of the Eagle Owl” (which can be viewed on Google video; the lithograph appears not long after the 4 minute mark). Therefore, we’re very pleased to receive another copy for sale, which can be viewed in his collection:

Robert Gillmor has provided us with print no.’s 37 to 40 (inclusive) of his “Blackbird and Rowan” lino cut which is available to view at the top of his collection.

We have sold the third of the four Robert Gillmor prints that were recently added to the gallery, which means we only have one left for the remainder of 2008, print no. 38 of 55 of “Settling to roost”.

We have added 4 new mono prints by Carry Akroyd to her collection. Each is a serigraph (made in small editions of less than 10 each), employing mono-printing techniques so none is identical.

We’ve sold another of the recently added Robert Gillmor works, this time of the “Settling to roost” print. Prior experience shows that Robert’s pieces tend to sell quickly, so if you are looking to purchase something special for the new year, we encourage you to act now!

We have sold a “The jackdaw tree” lino cut from Robert Gillmor, leaving only one more of the two prints we had in stock left. Act soon if you wish to own one of these limited edition prints from a sought after and highly collectible artist.
